Based on the same core proprietary architecture used in the QS500, Quorum has brought same virtues in 2.5G devices as those highlighted in 2G communications standards such as GSM and GPRS.

Quorum’s QS1000 and QS1100 are prime examples of Quorum’s 2.5G capability. This is the same chip with one significant difference – both chips cover multiple standards: GSM/GPRS/EDGE. However, the QS1000 offers an Analog I-Q Interface where as the QS1100 has a DigRF Interface. Both are designed to meet the ever-increasing demand for longer talk-time and standby-time while extending the coverage of EDGE networks. Quorum's unique Ultra-Low-Power (ULP) receive architecture simultaneously enables high RF performance and best-in-class receive current consumption with less than 50% of the current required by typical competing solutions while achieving -110dBm sensitivity. This low current consumption results in 10% improved talk time in GSM mode and 20% in EDGE mode. Moreover in EDGE mode the QS1000 and QS1100 also improve the range by up to 100%.
