Technology QS500 - GSM/GPRS QS1000 - GSM/GPRS/EDGE QS3000 - WCDMA+HEDGE QS3200 - TD-SCDMA+HEDGE QS2000 - FMC |
QS3200 Optimized to meet the challenges of today’s small form factor, power efficient, high performance cellular handsets, Quorum’s QS3200 is a highly integrated single-chip radio transceiver optimized for simultaneous support of TD-SCDMA and GSM-EDGE operation. Implemented in low cost bulk CMOS and designed without the need for external Transmit SAWs or LNAs, the QS3200 is capable of supporting six bands of operation simultaneously, four bands for GSM and two bands for TD-SCDMA operation. For TD-SCDMA, the QS3200 supports all bands specified in 3GPP TS 25.102 Revision 5. The QS3200’s linear transceiver architecture is utilized for both GSM and TD-SCDMA systems, offering excellent performance and design margins over standards requirements. A direct modulation scheme is used in the transmitter and performance of both chains is such that no additional RF filters are required to meet today’s out-of-band noise specification. The output driver stage for each transmitter chain is single-ended and matched to 50?. In GSM receive mode both Zero-IF (ZIF) and Near Zero-IF (NZIF) options are supported, offering baseband interoperability flexibility. During TD-SCDMA operation the receive path uses ZIF and the transmit path uses direct I-Q modulation. The transceiver supports an analog I-Q interface for both GSM and TD-SCDMA mode with a simple 3-wire bus architecture to program the radios. Each radio can be programmed independently by either the GSM or TD-SCDMA baseband chip or chips. The QS3200 is a member of the Quorum family of transceivers designed to offer cost competitive and ultra small footprint radio solutions with the highest performance at the lowest power for 2G, 2.5G, 3G, 3.5G, Bluetooth™ and Wi-Fi™.
