Executive Team Bernard Xavier, PhD President & CEO Bernard co-founded Quorum Systems in 2002 with the vision of developing a multi-mode radio device for the cellular market. Prior to Quorum, Bernard founded InnoCOMM Wireless, a Bluetooth and WLAN chipset developer, in February 1998. At InnoCOMM Bernard was primarily responsible for business development, engineering, finance and sales. Growing the company from its initial three-person team to a total of fifty-eight employees, developing the largest RFIC team outside of Qualcomm in San Diego. In 2002, InnoCOMM was acquired by National Semiconductor for $130M. Bernard was subsequently hired as the director of wireless data for National Semiconductor. In this new role he managed several satellite design teams in Sweden, Scotland, Santa Clara, Germany and the San Diego site. Bernard received his PhD in microwave circuits from Brunel University in the UK. He has published some thirty papers in radio frequency IC design and has served on the technical program committee of the MTT-S RFIC conference. He has filed several patents in the area of semiconductor circuits and systems. Lon Christensen CTO As CTO, Lon leads all technical and engineering functions within the company. His responsibilities include managing the product design and development, and defining system architectures for Quorum's products. He is also responsible for evaluating new technologies and standards and setting the technical direction for Quorum Systems. Lon comes to Quorum Systems with considerable experience in the wireless industry including RF design, system design and program management. Prior to Quorum, he was a senior system design engineer and program manager for National Semiconductor with significant management and engineering responsibilities. These included driving National's 802.11 radio engineering development and successfully managed to take the program from initial functional specifications to customer-sampled silicon in just 10 months. Lon also worked at InnoCOMM Wireless, Solectek Corporation and Torrey Science Corporation where he acquired significant additional RF design experience. Lon holds a B.S. from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA. James Benefer Senior Vice President, Marketing and Business Development Jim brings over 25 years of experience in wireless systems solutions to Quorum Systems, including design, applications, product marketing and sales management. Jim is responsible for all Quorum's marketing and business development activities across the Sereno platform of products on a worldwide basis. Prior to joining Quorum Systems, Jim was Director of Product Marketing for GCT Semiconductor, responsible for mobile multi-mode products, including Fixed-mobile convergence and WiBRO/WiMAX solutions. Before GCT, Jim managed Bluetooth at National Semiconductor, complete GSM solutions at Rockwell International and ZSP superscalar DSPs at LSI Logic. Jim spent 7 years with Agere initially managing DSP applications for Northern Europe before moving into sales and marketing. Jim has played a key role in defining, marketing and securing major customers for many wireless semiconductor products notably including: inventing 'SimplyBlue' at National, winning PDA and Mobile Phone business at Compaq and Motorola, as well as multiple handset design wins in Samsung, LGE and other mobile phone manufacturers during his time at GCT, National and Rockwell. His early career also included systems design roles in British Aerospace and Cossor Electronics (Ratheon). |
